Story Behind Priti Polish Nail Polish:
Priti was launched in 2005 as a green alternative to traditional spa experiences and products. The nail polish is
formaldehyde free, DBP free and
toluene free, and the bottle, wand, lid and brush are completely recyclable. The polish remover is made from soy naturally derived from farm crops and does not contain any petroleum ingredients. Readily biodegradable, it is nontoxic, contains no carcinogens and can be used for all types of nail polish. Soy polish remover contains orange oil to keep nail bed hydrated; it won't dry out your nails. Priti has many meanings in Sanskrit, such as "out of satisfaction," "with love" and "pleasurable sensation."

This review is from: Priti Polish Nontoxic Nail Polish (Pink Jewel Carnation) (Misc.)
I purchased some of Priti's nail products after finding them on a list of non-toxic nail polish. A light application of their base/top coat dried quickly. A thick application of their "Sexy Rexy Rose" took a bit longer to dry- and really stunk-- making me think that this may not be as non-toxic as they claim. A little investigation showed that ingredients on their website's glossary list come up as being involved in Birth or developmental effects and organ system toxicity on EWG's list of chemicals- s.a. Ethyl Acetate, Butyl Acetate, and Isopropyl Alcohol. But don't take my word for it check it out for yourself:

Though this product IS three free (free of Formaldehyde, Toluene, and DBP) this product is not entirely non-toxic. On the other hand Priti offers varied color choices and their product is quite resilient and chip-free in comparison to a water-based nail-polish that I tried.
