I was looking for a way to take on the latest trend in matte nail polish without losing the colors I already owned and loved. Unfortunately, the frontrunners of this trend cost up to $[...]! Fortunately, Essie was right on their heels with this amazing product. It goes on right over my nail polish as a top coat, and really does turn any color to a matte finish! It dries fast, so put on smoothly or there will be bumps.

I like matte about you because you can turn any nail polish into a matte finish. That being said matte polishes in general chip really easily so its not durable. Also it dries very quickly so you need to be able to paint your nails in an even and quick manner. Since I already new this from using opi's matte polish I found that the Essie matte about you worked the same way.

This does provide an instant matte finish, but when I used this on my nails and found that it was flaking off and chipping a day later. Try Nail Envy matte; a much more durable finish.
