OPI's 2011 Holiday "Gone Gonzo" is a clear polish with blue microglitter and large silver glitter in it. The affect is more like sequins from far away than a blue polish with diamond-like sparkles in it as it appears in the photos. This is not a blue polish. Basically, you are getting a smelly superglue with two colors and sizes of glitter in one bottle. The smell is nearly overwhelming. It smells like its vapor would explode if you lit a match anywhere near it.

The polish goes on nearly clear if thin layers are used. I found that repeated strokes on the same "coat" of polish to make a thicker coat added more glitter to the nail and meant less coats, but three coats were a minimum to cover the nail. The ends of my nails are nearly clear because the glitter does not stick well to the ends and sides of nails. I just gave myself a pedi last night with "Gone Gonzo" and it was the first time I used the product. I agree with the first reviewer, I was really surprised at first at how thin the polish was. However, if I put more polish on the brush than I normally would, it worked fine. The polish is thick, so it didn't roll off the nail. The color is close to the blue as it appears in the photo but the photo doesn't do the glitter justice - it really brightens up the color. The glitter is in two sizes, blue and larger gold or silver pieces (depending on the light). I would recommend making sure your nails are completely dry before doing anything else. I don't see this a.m. that I will need a second coat. It does dry a little rough, but it is glitter after all. I plan to finish with a clear top coat to smooth the finish. I LOVE this shade! It does take three coats to reach the effect shown in the picture, though. The color is fun, young, great for spring/summer, and sooo eyecatching because of the sparkle. I have heard that it is hard to remove, but I end up taking mine off in one sheet by grabbing the corner. I know I probably shouldn't do that because it will damage the nail, but it is easy, and I always use a base coat of nail strengthener.
